JESUS BRINGS A WIDOW’S SON TO LIFE Luke 7:11—17 Jesus went to a town called Nain. His disciples and a big crowd of people came with him. They wanted to know more about Jesus and learn from Him. As they entered the town, a boy who had died was being carried out. The boy’s mother was there, weeping. The boy was her only child, and she was a widow. Lots of people from the town were with her. Everyone was crying and filled with sadness. When Jesus saw the mother, his heart went out to her. He wanted to help her. Jesus said, “Don’t cry.” He went over and touched the coffin. The people carrying it stood still. They were probably wondering what Jesus was going to do. Jesus said, “Young man, I tell you: Get up!” The boy sat up and began talking. Jesus helped him get up and walked back to his mother. His mother was filled with joy! She was so happy that her son was again. All of the people were excited too.
